Rome, Ga Children Photographer: My Sweet Lou Lou

First of all, let me go ahead and put you at ease.  No, I didn't name my child Lou Lou.  She's actually my sweet Lydia... my mini-me.  She turned 12 today!!!  And her one request... "Can I stay home from school and you take pictures of me?"  God bless her sweet heart!  As if I could refuse!!

What can I say about my sweet Lou that won't invade her privacy too much... well as I already said, she's my mini me.  A, as they say in the south, "spittin'" image of me.  I knew this, but as I edited these pictures I became even more aware of it!  Wow!  The older she gets, the more she looks like the now me!!  Course, the twelve year old Lou looks just like the 12 year old Christy... well, I think she's prettier! = )  Acts just like me too. Yep... there's some goods in that statement and a WHOLE lot of bads! ; )

Why Lou Lou?  When she was a toddler, she was so little that we all started calling her Itty Bitty Litty, then when she got older, she was as cute as Cindy Lou Who on The Grinch, so her name transformed into, Lyddi Lou Who... and as she got even older, we dropped the Lyddi and the Who and stuck Lou Lou on her!  And it fits her personality perfectly!!

So enjoy just a few from our fun afternoon on Lou's VERY CHILLY birthday!  Happy Birthday, baby girl!!  I soooooo love you!!  Mwa! = )

Ciao Bellas!

Oo, ah, oo, la la!  My baby girls growing up!!

I can't tell you how excited I was to get to finally "shoot" someone at this door!  It's on a little one- way street in downtown... not much more than an alley way.  It just sits there all alone with no windows to keep it company, nothing but it's rickety old wall lamp, hanging haphazardly above it, creaking to distraction when the wind blows!  I LOVE this door! = )  I'm in love with yet another door around the corner, but I forgot about it today! Ooops!

Now that's my Lou Lou!!

And last but not least... When in Rome, use the fabulous clock tower as a back drop! = )

Oh, and by the way... I was able to use my 50mm in this shoot!  Yay, but lesson learned.  The 50mm lens is uberly awesome, but not to be used with everything!  I think some of the images would have turned out better if I had used the zoomy lens.  Live and learn... and never be ashamed of it!  So 50mm definitely to be used with close ups, and some distance shots, but not all distant shots.  Hmmm... I must practice more to figure it out! ; )  Fun, fun, fun!
