When I do have a moment to have a some "free thinking"... that's what I call the itty bitty bit of time I have in the midst of the insanity of raising five children (pretty much single-handedly) and trying to run my own business, where it's just my thoughts! Mine... all mine! = )
I actually fit this bit of free thinking into an editing session this morning. I was thinking about how much I've learned over the past few years, since starting Bella Faccia Photography.
I was thinking back to when I would go on shoots with LOTS of prayer, just hoping I'd have enough pictures turn out to a least please the clients!! Then how I used to edit, and re-edit, and OVER edit pictures, just to try to make them look like a higher grade portrait than what they were!! LOL!! Well... some how I pulled it off, and people are still calling me, eagerly wanting me to photograph them or their family members... or pets!!!
I will miss that fly by the seat of your pants photography, but I've since given it up for well thought out shoots, and much more detail to lighting!! It sure does make the editing process easier!!! I love it when I've got a full shoot of nothing but enhancement pictures. Just putting a few of my signature touches on them, instead of working the sharpen button to death and still completely unsatisfied with it's results!
Now don't get me wrong.... I still have LOTS and LOTS of learning to do, but I have finally arrived at a point that I no longer study other photographer's work for know how, but for enjoyment. I no longer feel foolish saying, Yes, I'm Bella Faccia Photography... (excepts when they catch me after my two mile "power walk" in my nasty walking clothes and in much need of a shower.... that'll teach me! = )... I'm proud of what we (me and the Lord) have managed to make out of this gals fumbles!! I can stand on my own two feet beside most any other photographer with great satisfaction in my work and absolutely no intimidation... well, most others!! You throw me in the ring with my favorite super hero, Jasmine Star, and I'm going to be shaking in my boots!! LOL!!
Anyway... that's my "free thinking" for the day!! Hope I haven't bored you... too much!!
Have a great day and....
Ciao Bellas!!
