"Do what you love and those who love what you do will find you."
I read this amazing bit of advise from a photographer when I first got started in photography and I've always kept it with me. Sadly, I can't remember who said it, but that quote kept creeping into my mind as I was editing Geri's pictures.
I cringe when asked what my "photography style" is. I don't like being boxed in by titles... high fashion photographer, vintage photographer, photo journalistic photographer, traditional photographer. I like them all...and use them all... often. But if you hand wrestled me for it and won... most likely you would... tehe... then I'd have to say my MOST favorite style is high fashion. And I guess it tends to show up in most of my photography, whether I'm working the vintage, photo journal, or traditional angle or not. LOL! What can I say... I have a flair for the dramatic. (Now I know where my Bekah gets it. ; )
Now having said ALL of that, the point I'm trying to make is... Geri spoke my style!!! When we found our first location at The Farm, I put her by a fence post and raised my camera to set up the lighting and BAM!!! Geri hit me with this pose!!
Ah, I'm so glad we "found" each other! ; )
I thought... mmm hmmm... this is going to be one fun session!!!! LOL!!! I shouldn't have expected anything less from such a stylishly chic lady, Geri, who is the owner of one of Broad Streets most prestigious dress shops, The Clotheshorse.
We were only able to use this location for a few minutes due to an uninvited guest... MR. Icky Snake who slithered soundlessly onto the scene!! EEeeeee... I still get chills when I think about how close I was standing to him and never even saw him.... EEEeeeee!!!!!! (I'm not sure what the proper sound for chills is, but that will have to do. ; )
Anyways... I hope you enjoy just a few from one sassy pregnant lady, her hubby, Chochi, aka. Ryan, and her sweet family of dogs!!
HUGS... and ciao Bella!

As
you can see, Geri is a strong advocate of dog rescues. All of her sweet
pups have a story, so I thought I'd share just a few...
Annie
(front and center, the only dog looking at the camera) was found beneath a porch, chewing on rocks for food, after
Katrina wracked the Gulf. Because of that, she has no teeth. : ( But look at that sweet baby
girl now. All happy now in a new home, with a new family.
Now Squishy (blond chiwawa mix in Geri's lap) is one hot mess! Such a cutie pie!! She was actually hit by a car as a puppy. Because of that she now has a metal plate covering her skull. Tehe... I have to laugh every time I look at her. Too cute.
I don't know Jackson's story (black chiwawa mix sitting beside Squishy) but he was the sweetest thing. He kept leaving the group to come say hello to me, then after a few good pets and pats, he happily wandered off, back to Geri's side. Melt my heart with cuteness!
Dogs from L to R: Rocky, Annie, Twinkle, Squishy, and Jackson
Geri is just gorgeous!! So glad she opted to wear her curly hair al naturale!
I found a new pond at The Farm! I think I could visit that place for years and never find all of it's beauty!
